Freelance marketplace PeoplePerHour has conducted a study of the best cities in which to start a business, taking into account quality of life, cost of living, rent, office space, monthly salary, ease of doing business in the country and actual estimated cost of starting a business.

Speaking about the final rankings, PeoplePerHour founder and chief executive Xenios Thrasyvoulou, was optimistic by the British placings on the list, in particular. ‘It’s fantastic to see that despite the worries over Brexit and the continuing fallout from the GEC, Britain has managed get two cities featured in the top fifteen rankings with effective strategic planning…the fact that Manchester is the third best place in the world for new startups, beating the likes of New York, Sydney and London is phenomenal, and bodes really well for the future of the so-called “Northern Powerhouse”.’
