Leadersmithing: it’s about learning how to learn the craft well

Are leaders born or made? Made, actually, and the scars show. Often the scars are hard won through adversity, from when leaders have tried to lead others, but found no-one will follow them: it takes two to tango. So is there a way to make this process less painful? Leadersmithing: it’s about learning how to learn the craft well. Like dance steps, it is about choreographing the right learning experiences, to create the muscle-memory required to lead successfully in the future.

Eve Poole teaches leadership and has written several books. Her latest book, Leadersmithing, is published by Bloomsbury in March 2017. She has a BA from Durham, an MBA from Edinburgh, and a PhD from Cambridge. She is the Chairman of Gordonstoun School.
